Which heaters work
Most Bluetooth diesel heaters. Diesel Heater King connects to the heater's own Bluetooth, with no extra box and no cables, and knows a heater by its Bluetooth, not by its brand or model. New heaters usually just work.
How it knows your heater
- When you add a heater, the app reads how its Bluetooth is laid out, then asks it for its status. Nothing else is sent until the app understands the answer.
- Some heaters are Beta: the app shows their readings first, and its controls work once you check them against the heater's own panel. See Beta heaters.
How to check yours
- Turn the heater on at its panel, and close any other app connected to it: only one phone or app can connect at a time.
- In Diesel Heater King, tap Add heater.
- The app checks the heater. If it can't read it yet, it says so, and nothing is sent to it.
- No heater with you? Try the Demo Heater first.
Yours doesn't connect?
Tap Copy details for support in the app and paste them into the support form: that's all we need to add it.
Not planned
Wi-Fi bridges, wired add-ons and 433 MHz remotes: the app is Bluetooth only, with no extra hardware.
Bluetooth thermometers (Pro, Beta) Beta
King Thermostat can hold the room on a Bluetooth thermometer. The app only listens to the thermometer's broadcasts: it never pairs with it or connects to it. These work today, all in Beta:
- Govee: H5051, H5052, H5071, H5072, H5074, H5075, H5100 to H5106, H5108, H5110, H5129, H5140, H5174, H5177, H5178 and H5179
- ThermoPro: the TP35x and TP39x thermometers
- SwitchBot: Meter, Meter Plus, Indoor/Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer, Meter Pro and Meter Pro CO2
- Xiaomi: LYWSD03MMC and other Xiaomi thermometers running the open ATC or pvvx firmware (stock Xiaomi firmware locks its readings, so the app can't read it)
- BTHome: any sensor that broadcasts BTHome v2 without encryption
Some Govee models send a beacon signal that Android hides from apps that don't use location; if yours never shows up, that's the likely reason. To add one: Room temperature → Add a thermometer, with the thermometer close by. More in Room temperature.
