Settings Guard
Panels, remotes and RF thermostats can change your heater without you knowing. At campsites, other people's remotes sometimes reach your heater too. Settings Guard (Pro) watches for that.
Pick a mode for each heater:
- Off: changes made outside the app are only recorded in History.
- Watch: the app alerts you when something outside the app changes the heater.
- Guard: the app puts things back, then tells you.
Guard's rules
- The heater's own buttons win. The heater can't tell the app whether a change came from its panel or from a remote, so change something twice and it's kept: if the same change comes again within 2 minutes of Guard putting it back, Guard leaves it and pauses. For turning the heater on, the 2 minutes start once it has finished cooling down.
- An unexpected start is stopped. Stopping is always the safe direction.
- An unexpected stop is only restarted if you turn on Keep running, and only after the heater has cooled down, with no fault, no CO alarm and no low battery.
- Keep automations in charge: Guard holds the heater to what King Thermostat set, not only to your own settings.
- If another remote keeps changing it (3 corrections in 15 minutes, shared with King Thermostat's run level), you choose: Stop and alert (the default) stops the heater and tells you; Leave it and alert leaves it as it is and tells you.
- Guard only acts while this phone is connected.
Remote signal (Beta)
Some heaters can turn their RF remote receiver off. When yours reports it, Remote signal shows here.
- Off blocks every RF remote: yours, a neighbour's at a campsite, and RF thermostats. The heater's own panel and this app keep working.
- To turn it back on, come back here and choose On.
- Guard watches it like your other settings.
If your heater doesn't report it, the app says it's not adjustable over Bluetooth on this heater.
