Wall Display
Wall Display (Pro) turns a spare phone or tablet into a wall thermostat: the dial with the room and King Thermostat's band, the time, the heater's state and the last two hours of the room.
Setting it up
- Open More → Wall Display, then Open Wall Display. It fills the screen.
- On while charging: the screen stays on while the device charges, and sleeps as usual on battery.
- Dim at night: in a dark room (the light sensor) and during the night hours you choose, the screen goes dim.
- Open on start-up: makes Wall Display a home-screen choice. Press Home, pick it, and it opens after every restart.
- To keep anyone from leaving the app, use Android's app pinning (Settings → Security → App pinning).
Leaving
Tap ✕ in the corner or go back.
One connection
The heater takes one Bluetooth connection at a time, so the wall device becomes the heater's controller. Other phones can still connect after a Hand Off (see Hand Off).
The room temperature
A device that stays on warms itself, which can make the Phone sensor read high. Calibrate the Phone sensor while Wall Display is running, or add a Bluetooth thermometer. See Room temperature.
Screen care
To protect the screen, the picture moves a few pixels every minute and nothing on it animates, which also keeps the device from warming itself.
