Starting and stopping safely

Starting

Press and hold the start button until the ring fills. A tap, or a phone moving in your pocket, can't start the heater.

The first time, the app shows a short safety notice about the exhaust and carbon monoxide.

The app won't start the heater while it's cooling down or while CO Guard has an alarm.

Stopping

Press and hold the stop button for 2 seconds, until the ring fills. A tap, or a hand moving the phone, can't stop the heater: a stop by accident while it lights can leave fuel in the burner. The heater then cools down: its fan keeps running for a few minutes to cool the burner, then it switches itself off.

What the heater is doing

• Off: standby.
• Self-check: it tests itself before lighting.
• Igniting: the glow plug heats up and the flame lights.
• Heating: burning steadily.
• Cooling down: shutting down.
• Fault: stopped because of a fault. The fault's name and code are shown. With Pro, tap it to see the likely cause and what to check.
