The Heater view

The big card on the Heater tab shows either the room or the heater. Tap Room or Heater at the bottom of the card to switch; the app remembers your choice.

The Heater view draws your heater doing what it's doing right now: the fan drawing air in, the glow plug, the fuel pump ticking and its fuel on the way to the burner, the flame, warm air out and the exhaust. The names of the parts at work light up, and a light on the casing shows the stage at a glance.

The stages

  • Ready: off and ready to start.
  • Starting: the start is on its way, and the heater tests itself before it lights.
  • Igniting: the glow plug is hot and the fuel pump is feeding the burner. Some smoke from the exhaust is normal now.
  • Heating: a steady flame. The harder it works, the faster the fan turns and the pump ticks.
  • Fan only: moving air, no flame.
  • Shutting off: the stop is on its way and the flame is going out.
  • Cooling down: the fan clears the heat out of the heater. Don't cut its power now.
  • Fault: the heater stopped itself. The fault's name and code are under the drawing.

The row under the stage shows where the heater is in a run: Self-check, Igniting, Heating, Cooling down, Ready.

Run time

Once it's heating, the line under the stage shows how long the heater has been on this run, in hours and minutes: "Steady flame · Power Level 10 · 1 h 05 min". The Room view shows it beside the phase: "Heating · 1 h 05 min". It counts from the first reading that showed the heater on, keeps counting if the app restarts mid-run, and goes away when the heater is turned off.

How the flame looks (Pro)

While it burns, a line under the drawing tells you how the flame looks, from the heater body's temperature. The casing glows with the real temperature too.

  • Warming up: the first 8 minutes at full power.
  • Burn looks healthy: at Power Level 10 the heater body holds above 200 °C (392 °F).
  • Flame looks weak: it stays under that. Stop it, let it cool down, and check before running it again.
  • Lower Power Levels aren't judged: heaters vary too much there.

When the heater is off, the line tells you if the last start didn't finish. See Troubleshooting.

The drawing never sends anything to the heater. With animations turned off on your phone, it stands still.
